HoCo Firefighters Rescue Ducklings in Columbia

The birds were stuck in a storm drain.

A group of baby ducks is waddling around Columbia today thanks to the helping hands of Howard County firefighters and a concerned citizen.

Firefighters from the Banneker station came to the rescue when someone called to report that ducklings were stuck in a storm drain on Little Patuxent Parkway near Whole Foods, according to Maria Hogg, spokeswoman for the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Four ducklings were plucked from the depths of the storm drain and brought to safety, Hogg said.
