HOWARD COUNTY, MD — When times are tough, it's not just humans that can suffer. To help out pet owners who are struggling to make ends meet, the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center has a pet food bank available to help people who need assistance during the coronavirus pandemic or any other time of financial stress.
The center will be hold a drive-thru event Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elkridge 50+ Center at 6540 Washington Blvd., Elkridge. There will be free dog food, cat food and cat litter supplies while they last for those who need them.
But it takes the generosity of donors to help stock the pet food bank. Donors can drop off their items under the front overhang of the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center, 8576 Davis Road, Columbia. Another way to donate is via the center's Amazon wish list.
