HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Nominations are being accepted now through Feb. 11 for the Howard County Department of Public Works’ Bureau of Environmental Services fourth annual Business Recycling and Waste Reduction Award and Green Community Leadership Award.

The Green Community Leadership Award honors a Howard County-based community group or organization that demonstrates efforts, projects or programs that help protect Howard County’s natural environment and preserve its resources. This award is open to community groups and organizations that are based in Howard County.
“Recognizing the efforts of our community partners to reduce waste and improve our local environment is one of the important things we do each year,” Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said. “Through their actions, dedication and support of our goal to create a clean and sustainable environment, these groups are showing us all that meaningful change can come from all around us.”
