House Fire in Glenelg Displaces 8, Officials Say

Firefighters rescued two dogs from a burning house in Howard County Friday night, emergency officials reported.

GLENELG, MD – Eight people were displaced by a fire Friday night in Glenelg, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

The residents of the home in the 13700 block of Bold Venture Drive evacuated before the arrival of first responders, who rescued two dogs from the house, officials said.

Neighbors called 911 at approximately 11:17 p.m. to report the fire at the single-family home, and crews found heavy fire coming from the garage and side of the two-story house, according to emergency personnel.

Approximately 55 firefighters from Howard County worked to put out the fire, along with additional crews from Montgomery and Carroll counties, officials reported.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation. Authorities said the residents were being assisted by the Red Cross.
