House Fire In Owen Brown Reported

Howard County fire officials said crews quickly extinguished a fire Thursday evening at a house in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — Authorities said a fire broke out in Columbia Thursday evening at a home in the village of Owen Brown. The house fire was reported before 6 p.m., according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Crews said they had snuffed out the fire in the 7000 block of Knighthood Lane, in a statement at 5:46 p.m.

Everyone had been evacuated, the homeowner told officials. Firefighters said they were checking to ensure the flames had not spread.

By 6:37 p.m., Howard County fire officials said the fire had been declared out.
