Howard County Bikeshare To Launch On Thursday
Have you seen the new bike kiosks around Columbia?

COLUMBIA, MD - The Howard County Bikeshare will officially open for riders on Thursday, July 6. The program will include 70 bikes across a network of seven stations in Columbia, from Howard County General Hospital to Blandair Park. Among the offerings will be electric assist bicycles.
The idea is to make bicycles accessible to those for short-term use.
Memberships are $15 per month, $85 per year or $2 per trip. Prices may vary because the cost covers the first 45 minutes of every trip. It costs $2 per each additional 30 minutes.

Bikes will be docked at seven locations in Columbia:
- Blandair Park
- Columbia Lakefront/Whole Foods
- The Mall in Columbia
- Crescent development
- Howard County General Hospital
- Howard Community College
- Oakland Mills Village Center
Representatives from Howard County, the Horizon Foundation, bike manufacturer Bewegen Technologies, Howard Community College, Columbia Association, Howard Hughes Corporation and The Mall in Columbia will attend a ceremony kicking off the program. The ribbon cutting for the Howard County Bikeshare will take place along Lake Kittamaqundi at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 6. The nearest Bikeshare station is in front of the Whole Foods.
