Howard County Farmers' Markets Will Open May 6

Only vendors selling food products such as produce, meat, dairy items, baked goods and beverages are allowed to sell at the farmers' market.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard County Farmers' Markets will open May 6, organizers announced. In order to comply with social distancing guidelines, the markets will open as drive-thru or pick-up orders. Each booth offering orders to be picked up will be positioned 12 feet apart and buyers are asked to stay 6 feet apart while waiting in line to pick up their order. Shoppers also are reminded by officials to wear a face covering or mask.

"I’m excited to announce Howard County Farmers’ Markets will still take place beginning Wednesday, May 6. I encourage residents to visit one of our farmers markets to find farm fresh food and products," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. "Please note, residents are urged to practice physical distancing when picking up orders from our farmers markets."

Currently, only vendors selling food products such as produce, meat, dairy items, baked goods and beverages are allowed to sell at the farmers' market. As regulations pertaining to social distancing and the coronavirus change, event organizers will update the schedules to reflect those changes, organizers stated.
