Howard County Home's Basement, Greenhouse Burn In Fire: Official

A Clarksville home's greenhouse and basement were damaged in a fire that broke out Monday morning, according to fire department officials.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Emergency workers were called to the 6700 block of Hitching Post Court in Clarksville Monday shortly before 7:30 a.m. for a report of a house fire.

When crews arrived, they found a fire in an attached greenhouse and heavy fire in the basement. Firefighters were able to reign in the fire within 35 minutes, according to the Howard County Fire and Rescue Services.

Three of the residents living in the home will be displaced. One resident was evaluated for minor injuries. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
