Howard County Police Out in Force for Memorial Day Weekend

As thousands hit the roads this Memorial Day weekend, Howard County police are letting people know that officers will be among them, keeping an eye out for impaired drivers.

AAA Mid-Atlantic anticipates more than 719,000 Marylanders will travel by car this holiday weekend.

“The Howard County Police Department will be out in force this Memorial Day weekend, enforcing traffic safety laws and taking impaired drivers off the road,” the department said in a statement Friday.

Police said they will especially be paying attention to roads around high schools in Howard County to reduce speeding, distracted driving and aggressive driving.

Officers will also be watching for seat belt use.
