Howard County Town Named 16th Happiest City In America: Report

COLUMBIA, MD — A Howard County community has made WalletHub's list of 2025’s Happiest Cities in America.

To identify the happiest cities across the country, WalletHub compared more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 29 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from the depression rate to the income-growth rate to the average leisure time spent per day.

• 3rd – Life Expectancy

The No. 1 happiest city in the U.S., according to the report, is Fremont, California.

Baltimore was the only other Maryland community to land on the list and ended up ranked 162nd.
