Howard Hospital Foundation Names Scott Butler Chair
Butler has served on the foundation board for the last four years and has lived in Howard County for more than 40 years.

Howard Hospital Foundation (HHF), which provides philanthropic support to Howard County General Hospital (HCGH), named Scott Butler chair of the board. Butler has served on the foundation board for the last four years and has lived in Howard County for more than 40 years.
“Around the time I joined the board, our youngest was born prematurely,” Butler said. “The day she came home from the hospital, we rushed my mom to the HCGH Emergency Department where she was diagnosed with a brain tumor we didn’t know she had. I was so thankful for the level of care she received at HCGH and Johns Hopkins as well as the support she received from the Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center that I vowed to commit myself to support HHF with all that I had.”
Butler has chaired the annual Howard Hospital Foundation Golf Benefit Classic as well as served on planned giving committee. He said, in this new era of health care, the role of the foundation will be to educate Howard County about the hospital’s needs.
