Hysteria Brewery Opens In Columbia

The taphouse in Howard County is now open.

COLUMBIA, MD - The newest taphouse is open in Howard County. Hysteria Brewing Company launched its craft beer brewery this week in Columbia.

The venue on Berger Road aims to be a community gathering space, with a vinyl library curated by customers and events such as yoga and outdoor movies in the works. The brewery also has its own house blend with Orinoco Coffee and plans to brew craft soda for those who are designated drivers or non beer-drinkers, according to a statement from Hysteria.

“We want our taproom and beers to offer something different from what people have experienced so far,” Hysteria founder Rich Gue said. “We’re not afraid to break boundaries.”

The plan is to brew new takes on IPA and other classic American and European beers, according to the company. A barrel and sour program is on the horizon.

The business is currently working on inventory and plans to open with limited hours July 13. Full hours will take effect in August.
