I-95 Crash Update: 2 Lanes Open in Howard County

BREAKING: A tractor-trailer crash has partially cleared, police said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — All lanes of Interstate 95 were temporarily shut down Thursday afternoon as authorities worked to clear an overturned tractor-trailer blocking the highway in Howard County.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on I-95 south past the exit for MD 32, according to state transportation officials.

When the highway was closed, traffic was reportedly detoured onto MD 32.

As of 4 p.m., Maryland State Police reported that the two left lanes had reopened.

Traffic cameras showed heavy congestion in the area, with emergency equipment blocking the ramp from MD 32 to I-95 south.
