HCLS Features Indie Lens Pop-Up Screenings
Four different thought-provoking documentaries from PBS's award-winning Independent Lens series to be shown at various HCLS branches

Howard County Library System is offering screenings of four thought provoking documentaries from PBS's award-winning Independent Lens. The new Indie Lens Pop-Up
neighborhood series is designed to bring people together for film
screenings and community-driven conversations. Screenings will be held
at various branches and featured films are as follows:
- WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR: For over 30 years, Fred Rogers was beamed daily into homes across America where he and his cast of puppets and friends spoke simply and directly to young children about some of life's weightiest issues. This film looks back on Fred Rogers' radical legacy of love and kindness.
- THE PROVIDERS : Set against the backdrop of the physician shortage and opioid epidemic in rural America, this film follows three healthcare providers in northern New Mexico as they work to reach rural Americans who would otherwise be left out of the healthcare system.
- CHARM CITY : Filmed during three years of unparalleled violence in Baltimore, Charm City delivers a powerfully candid portrait of those on the front lines.
- WRESTLE : This intimate, inspiring coming of age movie provides a portrait of the wrestling team at a struggling high school in Huntsville, Alabama. As they advance toward the State Championship, wrestlers face injustices and challenges on and off the mat.
Presented in partnership with Maryland Public Television.
