Lanham Man Dies Days After Assault In Savage, Friend Charged
A man has been rearrested and charged with manslaughter after the Lanham man he allegedly hit during a fight in Savage died days later.
SAVAGE, MD — Howard County Police has charged a Gambrills man with manslaughter after a man he hit during an altercation Aug. 28 in Savage died.
Jaylin James McConnaughey, 32, was initially arrested Aug. 28 and charged with assault after he allegedly hit Tevin Jarrett Sesker, 33, of Lanham. The two knew each other and were arguing in the 8800 block of Greenwood Place when McConnaughey hit Sesker, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head. Sesker was taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition, according to police.
Following his arrest, McConnaughey posted $10,000 bond and was released. Police were notified by the hospital Sept. 1 that Sesker had died as a result of his injuries. Detectives added manslaughter to McConnaughey’s charges and took him back into custody Sept. 2 at the police station in Ellicott City, according to police. He is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on no bond.
