Lidl To Open New Store At Mall In Columbia
The German discount grocer Lidl will open a store inside the former Sears space at the Mall in Columbia.
COLUMBIA, MD ā The German discount grocer Lidl will be opening a store in Columbia. It will be located inside the former Sears space at the Mall in Columbia and will be the fourth full-service Lidl store in the state.
According to the Baltimore Business Journal, the 26,170-square-foot store is scheduled to open next spring and is part of an effort by the chain to open 25 new East Coast stores by the end of 2021.
The grocer's other Maryland locations include stores in Aberdeen, College Park, Bowie and Hagerstown. Lidl plans to open new stores in Catonsville, White Marsh, Lanham, Waldorf and District Heights next year and may open one in Baltimore. The chain has approximately 10,500 stores in 29 countries and established a U.S. headquarters in Arlington County, Va., in 2015.
