LifeSpan Network Opens New Headquarters in Columbia Gateway
New Location to Expand Educational Offerings to Senior Services Providers
LifeSpan Network, a longstanding member of the Columbia business community, has opened its new headquarters at 7090 Samuel Morse Drive, Suite 400, in Columbia Gateway Park. The nonprofit organization moved from Rivers Center III, where it was housed for more than 23 years, to the new space in Columbia Gateway in late February.
“We are happy to introduce our new state-of-the-art collaboration and education hub for the entire spectrum of senior services’ providers in Maryland and D.C.,” Kevin Heffner, LifeSpan Network president, told audience members at its grand opening celebration on Friday, Mar. 9. “Whether you represent a continuing care retirement community, skilled nursing center, assisted living operator, home and community-based services organization, hospice provider, or a village movement community member, you have a place and a voice here.”
Heffner, along with LifeSpan Board Chair Dennis Hunter, vice president of Brook Grove Foundation of Sandy Spring, Md.; LifeSpan Board Vice Chair Carmel Roques, chief executive officer of Keswick Multi-Care Center in Baltimore; Izzy Firth, former LifeSpan president; Scott Rifkin, MD, co-founder and CEO of Mid-Atlantic Health Care; Ann Mackay, LifeSpan founder; and others introduced the new space and facilitated the ribbon cutting.

“We believe that both our diversity and history of inclusion make us uniquely positioned to lead in our space, particularly as we enter the total cost of care environment, in which we will all need to communicate and collaborate in order to be successful,” Heffner said.
More than 150 people attended the grand opening event, which included chef-prepared cuisine from the following Marylnd senior living communities: Brookdale Towson, Ingleside King Farm, Integrace Copper Ridge, Somerford Place Columbia, and Somerford Place Hagerstown.
