House Fire Sends 1 To Hospital In Columbia: Officials
Crews battled a house fire in Columbia early Saturday morning, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported.

COLUMBIA, MD - One person was hospitalized after a house fire in Columbia overnight, officials said.
After 1 a.m. on Saturday, crews were dispatched to the 8800 block of Tidesebb Court and found a home with fire showing when they arrived, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
More than 50 firefighters and paramedics assisted with the response. Within half an hour, the fire was knocked.

One resident, who had evacuated by the time first responders were on scene, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, according to authorities.
A dog also got out of the house safely and was being cared for by a neighbor, officials said.

Before 3 a.m., the fire was out, and crews were ensuring any hot spots had been extinguished.
The blaze was ruled accidental, and the house was posted as uninhabitable. A cause had not been determined.
