Long Reach Shooting Victim Airlifted, 2 in Custody: Police

A nonfatal shooting is under investigation after Old Dobbin incident, according to the Howard County Police Department.

COLUMBIA, MD — Two people were taken into custody in connection with a shooting that injured a man in Long Reach Saturday night, Howard County police said.

Officers found the victim and two suspects in the area of Old Dobbin Lane while responding to a call about a person in the road at 5:15 p.m. who had been shot in the leg, police said. A handgun was also found at the scene, according to authorities.

A medevac landed in the Long Reach High School parking area to pick up the victim for transport to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Police said the crime did not happen on school property and was "unrelated to the school."

The identities of the suspects and victims were under investigation. The condition of the shooting victim was not immediately available.
