Homicide in Long Reach Under Investigation, Police Say

A man was fatally injured in Columbia, where police ask for tips in the murder case; call 410-313-STOP with information.

COLUMBIA, MD — Investigators are working on a homicide case in Columbia after a man was found deceased in his apartment Tuesday, police say. The victim, who was in his 60s, will not be identified until next of kin are notified.

Authorities went to the man's apartment on Hayshed Lane before noon when he had not been seen Monday or Tuesday. He appeared to have died from traumatic injuries inside his apartment, according to the Howard County Police Department.

His body will be autopsied to determine the precise time and cause of death.
