Man Pleads Guilty To Making Obscene, Lewd Phone Calls: Howard County Prosecutor
A Baltimore man has pleaded guilty to making 25 obscene, lewd and indecent phone calls to a Howard County resident, prosecutors say.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 66-year-old Baltimore man has pleaded guilty in Howard County court for making obscene phone calls.
Eric William Howard has pleaded guilty to two counts of telephone misuse: obscene phone calls. Howard began calling and leaving obscene, lewd and indecent voicemail messages on the victim’s cell phone beginning on May 17. Over the next few days, the victim received a total of 25 voicemails. Through investigation, officers from the Howard County Police Department were able to identify Howard as a suspect and he was still in possession of the cell phone when he was arrested, police noted.
Howard County District Court Judge Wayne Brooks sentenced Howard to three years suspend all but one year of active incarceration. Once Howard is released from his jail sentence, he will be on three years of supervised probation in Baltimore City, he has been ordered to complete a psycho-sexual evaluation; drug and alcohol evaluation with continuation of treatment; submit to random urinalysis testing; and not have any contact with the victim or their family members.
