UPDATE: Missing Woman Found In Jessup, Police Say

Police said a missing Eastern Shore woman was found in Howard County.

UPDATE (12:07 p.m.) — Missing Wicomico County woman Katie Cook has been located, according to Maryland State Police.

Authorities said that troopers found Cook minutes before noon on Thursday; she was safe in Howard County, and a crime had not occurred, police said.

Cook had been reported missing Tuesday after her family had not heard from her since Sunday. She had last been seen in the area of US 1 at MD 175 at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

After 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, investigators were searching the US 1 area in Jessup when they found her.

JESSUP, MD — A woman from the Eastern Shore has been reported missing, and authorities say she was last seen in Howard County.

Police said Katie M. Cook, 27, was last seen at 7 a.m. on Sunday, March 12. She was in the area of MD 175 at US 1.

Cook is from Willards, Maryland, and was visiting a relative. She usually checks in with family. Her mother reported her missing Tuesday, March 14, after being unable to get in touch with her, telling officials that it is unusual for several days to go by without family hearing from her.

In addition to Howard County, Cook has relatives in Harford County, police said.

Cook is described as a white woman who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and approximately 140 pounds. She has blue eyes and blond shoulder-length hair, according to officials. She was wearing a long, hooded jacket.
