More Suspended Bus Routes Restored For Howard County Students

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — As of Sept. 10, five of the eight suspended school bus routes will be restored this week, according to Howard County Public School System Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano.

Also, the superintendent said two buses were swapped to "create better efficiency throughout the entirety of their routes and more easily stay on schedule." They are:

• Atholton ES bus 1201 will now be bus 1144
• Waterloo ES bus 1144 will now be bus 1201

Additionally, the following routes will be restored Tuesday, the superintendent said:

"We are continuing to restore the final three routes (buses 1070, 1144 and 1165) and I will inform families as soon as we receive confirmation that they are restored. Additionally, we are working on a few adjustments for special education route pick up times to improve efficiency and enhance on time arrivals," Martirano informed parents.
