Plan To Attend Movie Night, Concert This Weekend For Lakefront Live In Howard County

Make plans to attend a free movie Friday night and concert Saturday night at Lakefront Live hosted by the Columbia Association.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Grab your blanket or lawn chair and check out Lakefront Live, a series of free concerts, movies and performances hosted by the Columbia Association.

Friday at 8:30 p.m., the film version of the Broadway musical In The Heights will be shown. Before the movie showing will be Dancin' Under the People Tree at 7 p.m. where people of all ages and abilities can engage in guided dance.

The Rhonda Robinson Jazz Quartet will perform June 18 at 7:30 p.m. Baltimore-based jazz vocalist/flutist Rhonda Robinson studied acting, voice and dance at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She sings in eight different languages in a classic jazz style with a progressive edge.

Columbia Association will be hosting 55 nights of free entertainment at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront this year. Guests can park in the lot next to the Whole Foods along Little Patuxent Parkway. The Mall parking across the Little Patuxent Parkway and the garage on Wincopin Circle also are open to the public. People also can ride their bikes down to the Lakefront and park it in one of the bike rack spaces adjacent to Whole Foods.

Feel free to bring your own food but there also will be local restaurants offering curated menus for five headline performances. No outside alcohol is allowed but will be sold at headline concerts, too.
