Drop Off Prescription, OTC Medications At Special Event Saturday In Howard County

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the Wilde Lake Village Center.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD —National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be this Saturday with a special collection event hosted by HC DrugFree from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wilde Lake Village Center parking lot near the swim center at 5305 Village Center Drive. The drive-thru drop-off event will collect expired and unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, needles, syringes, EpiPens, patches and vapes.

Adults are invited to tour a trailer set up to simulate a young person's bedroom and bathroom. see places where drugs can be hidden in plain sight and learn the signs of drug use.

Seth Hoffman with the Howard County Police Department reminds residents that there are drop boxes available year-round at several locations; however, they do not accept sharps or liquid medication.
