Nearly 1K Students, Staff At HCPSS Are In Quarantine Due To COVID-19, Officials Report
As of Sept. 22, almost 1,000 students and staff with HCPSS are in quarantine. The school district will release COVID-19 statistics weekly.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Nearly 1,000 students and staff with the Howard County Public School System are quarantining due to a positive COVID-19 test or having been in close contact with a person who tested positive. The school district releases these numbers weekly.
According to the school district, these reported numbers reflect positive test results that have been self-reported to HCPSS. The data reflects the date HCPSS was notified of the positive case and not necessarily the date of the positive test result.
There are more than 57,000 students enrolled at HCPSS and an estimated 5,000 staff members.

As of Sept. 23, there are 11,192 active COVID-19 cases and a total of 21,840 cases so far in Howard County. So far, 233,007 people are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
