New Year's Eve Events Across Howard County: 2019 Guide

There are many ways to ring in the New Year for families and adults only, whether it's with yoga, live music, foodie trivia or bowling.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Whether you plan to celebrate the New Year out on the town or at home with your closest friends and family, hopefully 2020 will be a fantastic year for you. Below are some fun options for Howard County residents to consider when planning their festivities whether they're adults-only or family-friendly. Let us know of any other New Year's Eve activities going on in the county, too.

Bowlero: There are several packages available at the bowling alley located at 7100 Carved Stone, Columbia, that range from reserved lanes, champagne or sparkling cider, cocktails and VIP service. There is a family-friendly daytime option and a "ball drop" evening package.

New Year’s Eve Power Up: Haven on the Lake at 10275 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, will host a free power-up flow yoga session at 10:45 a.m. and at 11 a.m., along with a free power-up full-body pilates and abs session to help everyone get energized for the New Year.

Noon Year’s Event: Central Branch, Elkridge, Glewnwood, Miller and Savage libraries will host a Noon Year’s events starting at 11:15 a.m. The family-friendly event will include dancing, bubbles and stories.

New Year’s Eve at Carroll Baldwin Hall: A family-friendly event featuring food, games and crafts starts at 7 p.m. and runs through midnight at the hall, 9035 Baltimore St., Savage. Live music will be performed by local band Miss Moon Rising from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and games to share.

Midnight at 7! A Symphony of Lights Event: Walk through the Symphony of Lights at Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, from 5 to 7 p.m., and enjoy a fireworks show.

New Year’s Eve Murder Mystery: With a 1920s theme, the Sinister Speakeasy mystery by Whodunnit for Hire encourages its audience to solve a murder while dining on a three-course dinner topped off with a champagne toast at midnight at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Columbia, 5485 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia.

Cured: Enjoy a New Year's Eve bash from 8 p.m. until the ball drops. It will be a cocktail-style party with a buffet dinner, live music and a champagne toast at midnight.

Aida Bistro: Enjoy a rousing game of progressive foodie trivia each hour starting at 5 p.m. The winner receives a $50 gift card. The grand prize is a seat at the chef's table in 2020.

The Soundry: The 19th Street Band will perform at The Soundry for New Year's Eve. There will be an open bar, party favors and food.

Numerous area restaurants also are hosting New Year's Eve celebrations and special dining options, including Food Plenty, Turf Valley Resort, Kelsey Restaurant & Spirits, Alexandra's American Fusion, Manor Hill Tavern, Casino Royal and Victoria Gastro Pub.
