Oakland Mills HS Evacuated After Fire, Officials Say
School is letting out early after emergency Tuesday morning in Columbia, Howard County Public Schools officials reported.

COLUMBIA, MD – Oakland Mills High School was the scene of a fire Tuesday morning that has reportedly closed school for the day.
Firefighters responded at 7:30 a.m. to a fire reported in the locker room at the school in the 9000 block of Kilimanjaro Road, officials said.
The fire started in a dryer and was contained there thanks to sprinklers in place, according to officials.

By 8 a.m., authorities reported the blaze was under control and crews were ventilating the building.
Emergency pick-up is in effect, and students will be dismissed for the day at 9:45 a.m., according to the Howard County Public School System.
