Oakland Mills Pedestrian Improvements Move Along

Improvements are underway in Columbia, and Council Chair Calvin Ball said he was “thrilled” to see they are “quickly moving forward” in Oakland Mills.

“In fighting for safety, walkability and pedestrian enhancements for my Oakland Mills neighbors, I’m thrilled to see the crosswalk, sidewalk and pedestrian improvements are quickly moving forward at the intersection of Thunder Hill Rd at [Route] 175,” said Ball, whose district includes Columbia.

The project on Thunder Hill Road includes installing a crosswalk and missing sidewalk in front of the Walgreens, according to a November construction update from Ball.

Ball said he was grateful to the Howard County Department of Public Works and State Highway Administration, who partnered with his office in bringing the improvements to fruition.
