Part of Howard County Under Winter Weather Advisory

The advisory calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory, including part of Howard County, calling for a wintry mix Sunday that could make roads slippery through Monday morning.

The winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday for the following areas:

  • Northwest Howard County (Lisbon)
  • Northern Baltimore County (Reisterstown, Cockeysville, Parkton)
  • Carroll County
  • Frederick County
  • Northwest and southeast Harford County (Jarrettsville, Aberdeen)
  • Northwest Montgomery County (Germantown, Damascus)

A wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow will begin to fall late Sunday afternoon, changing to rain before Monday morning, the weather service reports.

Less than 1 inch of snow and a glaze of ice may accumulate, according to the National Weather Service.

Untreated roads may become icy, according to the advisory, which stated drivers should be ready for slippery roads and limited visibilities.
