Passenger Dies After Route 100 Rollover Crash: Police

After the car she was in flipped on MD 100, a Hagerstown woman has died, Howard County police said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – A Hagerstown woman involved in a crash on MD 100 has died, the Howard County Police Department reported Wednesday morning.

Nicole Marie Ashby, 31, was a passenger in the Pontiac G5 that rolled over multiple times at 9:43 a.m. on Tuesday while headed west on Route 100 near Executive Park Drive, police said.

It has not yet been determined what caused the vehicle to leave the road.

Ashby was taken to Howard County General Hospital in critical condition, then transferred to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced deceased Wednesday morning, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle—Keith Charles Quigg, 31, also of Hagerstown—was treated at shock trauma and released, officials said.

Route 100 westbound was closed for approximately three hours Tuesday between MD 108 and Executive Park Drive.

Police said neither Ashby nor Quigg was wearing a seatbelt in the single-vehicle collision, and no charges have been filed.
