Pearls For Pups In HoCo Raises $60K For Shelters
A Howard County jewelry business donates 100 percent of proceeds to animal rescue shelters.
HIGHLAND, MD — A Howard County woman and her two daughters, inspired by their own rescue pets, started an at-home business creating jewelry. All the proceeds go to dog shelters and rescues.
Pearls for Pups sells jewelry named for dog breeds, such as light gray pearl earrings labeled "Weimaraner."
Co-founder Jenna McMakin told Capital News Service that there has been nearly $60,000 donated in the first two years.
