Howard High Student Injured Crossing Old Annapolis Road: Officials
Howard County police said a pedestrian was hit by a car Monday after he crossed the street against the signal.

COLUMBIA, MD — A man was taken to shock trauma Monday morning after being hit by a car while he crossed the street in Columbia, officials reported. He was a student at Howard High School, school officials said.
The pedestrian was crossing Old Annapolis Road at Centre Park Drive at 6:29 a.m. when he was hit, according to the Howard County Police Department. He suffered minor injuries and was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.
The driver was uninjured and based on preliminary investigation was not at fault, according to officials.

"Through preliminary investigation, police believe the pedestrian crossed the roadway at an intersection against the signal," police said in a statement. "No charges have been filed at this time."
