Pedestrian Killed In Jessup: Police

Police said a pedestrian was hit by a truck Tuesday morning in Jessup walking on Waterloo Road.

JESSUP, MD — Police said a pedestrian was killed in Jessup Tuesday morning in front of a state prison after being hit by a truck. The crash closed MD 175/Waterloo Road for about three hours, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Donnelle Markus Williams, 43, of Jessup, was pronounced deceased at the scene on MD 175 in front of the Patuxent Institution, police said. The maximum-security prison is located in the 7500 block of Waterloo Road.

Police said that Williams was hit by a 2003 Toyota Tacoma while walking in the road at 3:57 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Jeffrey Fullard, 54, of Baltimore, who had been driving the Tacoma, stayed at the scene and was unharmed, according to authorities.

Police said MD 175 was closed between Pocomoke and Oceano avenues until 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
