Portable Classrooms Broken Into At Elementary School

COLUMBIA, MD — A suspect or suspects reportedly broke into two portable classrooms at Cradlerock Elementary School Thursday night.

Howard County Police reported that the suspect(s) entered the portable classrooms by breaking windows around 6:30 p.m. July 16. It isn't clear if anything was stolen from the portable classrooms.

The elementary school is located at 6700 block of Cradlerock Way.

This incident comes on the heels of a break-in at the Howard County Public School Applications and Research Lab in Ellicott City, which is under construction. That incident happened July 13 around 4:30 a.m. at the lab, which is located in the 10920 block of Clarksville Pike.

Officers found 30-year-old Jamin Boateng of Laurel in the lab and arrested him, according to police. He has been charged with burglary and trespassing. Court records show Boateng was released on his own recognizance and has a trial date of Sept. 17, Patch reported previously.
