River Hill Independence Parade Features Lieutenant Governor
The River Hill Independence Parade is set for the morning of Wednesday, July 4.

COLUMBIA, MD ā The lieutenant governor will be among those in attendance at the Fourth of July festivities in Columbia for 2018. Maryland Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford has announced he will be at the River Hill Independence Day Parade on Wednesday, July 4.
The River Hill Independence Parade starts at 9 a.m. at Pointers Run Elementary School and runs along Great Star Drive.
Participants will travel along the parade route from 6600 South Trotter Road in Clarksville to the 5th District Volunteer Fire Station at 5000 Signal Bell Lane.

This River Hill Independence Day Parade is sponsored by the River Hill Community Association.
While the weather will be steamy for parades, concerts and other July 4 fun, the Maryland weather forecast looks favorable for events to go off as planned. The National Weather Service says there is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon on Wednesday with a high near 92; it will feel like 100 degrees across much of the state. On Wednesday night the 20 percent chance of rain lingers, with isolated showers and storm before 3 a.m. and mostly cloudy skies.
