Rosedale Man Hit, Killed By Car While Walking In The Road: Howard County Police

A Rosedale man was hit and killed by a car while walking in the road Aug. 9, reports the Howard County Police Department.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 44-year-old Rosedale man has died after he was hit while crossing the road late Wednesday night.

Around 10:40 p.m. Aug. 9, a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 was heading south on Washington Boulevard approaching Wilbert Lane in Laurel when it hit 44-year-old James Douglas Williams Jr. crossing the road. Williams Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured and remained at the scene, according to the Howard County Police Department.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed, the police department shared.
