Roundabout Project To Start Tuesday In Howard County, Lane Closures Expected
A project to create a roundabout in Columbia will start Tuesday. Drivers should expect temporary lane closures.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A construction project to install a roundabout at the intersection of Old Montgomery Road and Tamar Drive in the Village of Long Reach in Columbia has been scheduled to begin Tuesday.
The roundabout will be constructed within the roadway’s existing curb lines, with improvements to the pedestrian crossings and bikeways made. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by late November 2022.
Signs and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as lane shifts and temporary lane closures are expected. A temporary pedestrian detour will also be provided.
