Route 108 Closure Planned For Pipeline Repair
Approximately 17,000 vehicles travel along this section of Route 108 each day, officials advise.

COLUMBIA, MD - A section of Route 108 will be closed in Columbia next weekend so that a section of gas line can be repaired, according to Howard County officials. A private company, Colonial Pipeline, will be handling the repairs on the line that is buried under the road.
Route 108 will be closed in the area of Centre Park Drive/Phelps Luck Drive, officials advised.
Drivers will be detoured around the repair area onto Waterloo Road to Route 100 to US 29 to Route 108. People are advised to allow for extra following distance and slower speeds on the road.

"Approximately 17,000 vehicles use this section of MD 108 each day, so motorists should plan extra travel times," Howard County government authorities said in a statement.
The closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, and lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9.
