Guilford Lake Drowning Victim IDed
Police said that a man's body was recovered Friday from a pond in Jessup.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Police have identified the man who drowned Friday at a pond in Jessup. Based on the preliminary investigation, officials said that foul play is not suspected.
Gregory Alan Scarborough, 38, of Jessup, fell into the water at Guilford Park, according to the Howard County Police Department.
He was found after emergency personnel were called to the park in the 9900 block of Guilford Road for a report of a man in the water at 4:37 p.m., officials said.

A water rescue team from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services recovered the man's body from the pond after 6:30 p.m., police reported. He was pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities said.
Guilford Park is owned and managed by the Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks. It contains a half-acre pond with fishing pier and gazebo.

PREVIOUS REPORT — A potential drowning was reported Friday in Guilford Park, according to WBAL. The park is located in the 9900 block of Guilford Road in Jessup.
Crews were dispatched to the lake at 4:20 p.m., WJLA reported.
As boaters search for the victim, the news station is live at the scene, where dive teams are in the water as of 5:30 p.m.
