Sensory-Friendly Sundays Launched At Columbia Nature Center
The Robinson Nature Center will be hosting Sensory-friendly Sundays starting Sept. 8 where families and others can enter the center early.
COLUMBIA, MD — The Robinson Nature Center will be hosting Sensory-friendly Sundays starting Sept. 8. This monthly event is designed for families with kids, teens and adults with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.
The center will open early, which allows visitors to enjoy a calm environment in which to explore the exhibits, Discovery Room, nature trails and the outdoor Nature Place play area. Sensory alert maps, sensory backpacks and quiet areas will be made available. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Subsequent dates are Oct. 13, Nov. 10 and Dec. 15.
