Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For 3 Counties
BREAKING: A severe thunderstorm with 60 mph wind gusts is headed for the area, the National Weather Service warns.

BALTIMORE, MD -- A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Baltimore, Carroll and Howard Counties. The warning calls for 60 mph wind gusts that could cause trees and branches to fall, officials say.
The severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 18.
A severe thunderstorm was spotted by radar at 4:25 p.m. near Sykesville, about 9 miles northwest of Columbia, that was moving east at 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

People should go inside if possible during the warning period and move to the lowest room, on the interior, away from trees.
Locations that may be impacted include the following, according to the National Weather Service: Columbia, Pikesville, Elkridge, Ellicott City, Catonsville, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Owings Mills, Eldersburg, Milford Mill, Lochearn, Arbutus, Sykesville, Oakland, Ilchester, Garrison, Hanover, Henryton, West Friendship and Dayton.

The wind gusts may lead to downed trees, blocked roads and localized power outages.
