Sisters Plan Fundraiser For Parents After Fire Damages Home

Lauren and Lucie Geraci have set up a GoFundMe page for their parents after fire severely damaged their Columbia home and hurt their pets.

COLUMBIA, MD — For 20 years, the Geraci family called Columbia their home, specifically a cozy house along Bluecoat Lane. But on Nov. 18, a morning fire broke out, severely damaging the home and terrifying two dogs, Lola and Maggie. Howard County firefighters and paramedics who found the terrified pets during a search of the home treated the dogs with oxygen on the scene via pet oxygen masks and transported them to a local veterinary facility. Two cats, Pie and Clyde, managed to survive, too.

But now, the Geraci family must piece their lives back together after the fire. Crews battled the blaze that heavily damaged the second floor and the roof. The Geracis' daughters Lauren and Lucie have since established a GoFundMe campaign to help their parents.

"We are heartbroken over this tragedy and are taking each day in stride. While we will do everything we can to support our parents as they rebuild, and because victims of fires this extensive face tremendous costs, we hope this fund can help alleviate some of that burden. Thank you to anyone who wants to show their concern and care for our family," the sister shared on the GoFundMe page.
