Small Business Of The Year Award Given To Columbia Law Firm

COLUMBIA, MD — A Columbia law firm has been named the 2019 Small Business of the Year by the Howard County Chamber of Commerce. Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr LLP, a law firm headquartered that also has offices in Annapolis, Westminster and Salisbury, has provided legal services to businesses, individuals and families across Maryland for more than four decades.

“A strong and vibrant business community for Howard County has always been important to CarneyKelehan,” said Tom Meachum, partner at CarneyKelehan, in a statement. “A big part of that is supporting the Chamber of Commerce, which does crucial business development work throughout the county. We’re honored to be recognized by such an important organization.”

The Howard County Chamber of Commerce presents Awards for Chamber Excellence to chamber members who have demonstrated a continuing commitment to the chamber. Small Business of the Year recipients volunteer with the chamber, sponsor and attend chamber events, contribute to the wider business community and participate in charitable and educational programs in the community.

The Howard County Chamber of Commerce presented the Awards for Chamber Excellence at the chamber’s 50th anniversary Signature Event Oct. 5 at Turf Valley Resort. At the event, CarneyKelehan also received a Congressional Achievement Award from U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings in recognition of the firm’s Award for Chamber Excellence.
