Stabbing, Assault Of Former Partner Leads To Conviction Of Howard County Man: Prosecutor

A Columbia man has been convicted in connection to the stabbing and assault of his former girlfriend, according to the HoCo prosecutor.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 29-year-old Columbia man has been found guilty in connection to an altercation with his former girlfriend in their apartment.

On Sept. 3, 2022, Damarcus Thompson was with his then-girlfriend in their apartment. The two began arguing and his girlfriend attempted to escape to the bathroom. Thompson barged in and punched her in the head, according to Howard County Police.

The former girlfriend then ran from the bathroom and Thompson followed, stabbing her in the neck and in the side. She was able to call 911. The victim was treated at Shock Trauma. A Howard County Circuit Court jury found Thompson guilty of assault in the 2nd degree and reckless endangerment. He will be sentenced May 30, according to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office.
