State-Of-The-Art Long Reach Tennis Club Now Open
The grand opening event is set for April 20. Come check it out!

The best place to play tennis in Howard County (and arguably in the entire Mid-Atlantic Region) recently opened its doors in Columbia, Maryland.
The ball is now in your court — come visit the state-of-the-art Long Reach Tennis Club, a Columbia Association (CA) facility conveniently located at 6180 Old Dobbin Lane, near Long Reach High School.
“Long Reach Tennis Club was designed with the tennis enthusiast in mind,” said Maury Bozman, CA’s tennis general manager.
The six indoor courts are climate-controlled. The lighting is superb yet energy-efficient. And the facility has PlaySight Smart Court technology — cameras that can make line calls for you as you play. The cameras also allow you to live-stream your matches online or through a mobile app. That way, you can review your stroke, track your stats, and work with a coach to improve your game. PlaySight is currently installed on one court, with plans to expand to additional courts.

A grand opening event is scheduled for Friday, April 20 from 6-9pm. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by an evening of socializing and on-court tennis activities, including round-robin doubles, cardio tennis, pickleball and the new POP Tennis. There will also be a special appearance by Murphy Jensen, head coach of the Washington Kastles tennis team and a former grand slam doubles champion. Registration is appreciated but not required. Please register at ColumbiaAssociation.org/longreachopening.

Long Reach Tennis Club is open from 6am-10:30pm on Monday through Friday, and from 6am-9pm on Saturday and Sunday. The facility replaced the aging indoor courts at Owen Brown, where the bubble had long outlived its useful life. There are seven lighted outdoor courts at Owen Brown Tennis Club. The five courts that were once under the bubble are expected to transition into outdoor tennis and pickleball courts.
