Swimming Pools To Open For Summer, Here's Where You Can Find One In Columbia

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — With high 70s into the 80s forecast for Memorial Day Weekend across Maryland, a quick dip in a cool pool would be refreshing and fun. Patch has the scoop on Howard County pools that are open for the summer swimming season starting Memorial Day Weekend.

If you're looking for an outdoor pool, Howard County has more than two dozen, including two mini water parks. They're open starting May 27 from noon to 7 p.m.

There also are indoor pool facilities in case the weather isn't cooperative one day this summer but you still really want to go for a swim. The Roger Carter Community Center in Ellicott City also offers a swimming pool and splash pad.

Columbia Association residents can visit any of the 23 outdoor pools for free on the second Sunday of each month with a Columbia Card. Each Columbia Cardholder can obtain four passes to use at any of the outdoor pools Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays.

North St. Johns Swim and Tennis Club in Ellicott City requires a membership to use its outdoor pool. The Dancel Y in Ellicott City offers an indoor pool, which also requires a membership to use. The Nob Hill Swim Club in Ellicott City offers an outdoor pool and nearby playground for its members.
