Teen Stabbed At High School By Classmate: Howard County Police
A 17-year-old male was stabbed at Hammond HS Thursday, which was placed on modified lockdown. He has since been released from the hospital.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 17-year-old student at Hammond High School was stabbed by a 15-year-old Thursday and the school was placed on modified lockdown for a period of time.
According to the Howard County Police Department, officers arrived at the high school in Columbia shortly before 1 p.m. The male teenager who was stabbed by a female teenager knew her, police said.
The school resource officer was at the school and responded to the incident. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries and released later that day. The suspect was taken into custody a short time later near the school, the police department noted.

"We're still investigating the nature of the relationship between these two students. We are certainly looking into whether there had been any sort of romantic involvement in the past. At this point, it's still under active investigation," Howard County police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn told WBAL.
