Tractor-Trailer Crash South of Columbia Ties Up Interstate 95

A crash south of Columbia slowed traffic Wednesday morning for drivers on Interstate 95 south.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday on I-95 south at the exit for MD Route 216/Scaggsville Road, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.
As of 10:30 a.m., delays persisted on I-95 south, starting at Route 32, according to WNEW, which said a tractor-trailer had overturned and officials were cleaning up the debris.

Two tractor-trailers were involved in the collision, according to WJLA, which reported one person was taken for medical treatment from the scene.
The injuries were not life-threatening, according to WUSA 9, which reported a tractor-trailer overturned across all lanes of I-95.

I-95 south was shut down until 7:40 a.m., resulting in backups of 3 miles, according to The Washington Post.
By 10:45 a.m., two left lanes were open on I-95 south at Route 216, while the right lanes and shoulder were closed for cleanup.
