Tractor Trailer Driver Identified In Fatal Rest Stop Crash
The parking brake was a factor in the deadly crash Saturday at the I-95 rest area in Howard County, Maryland State Police said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Police said a driver died Saturday morning at the Interstate 95 rest area in Howard County, pinned between two vehicles. The rest area remained open to the public, according to Maryland State Police; part of the section for tractor trailer parking was closed for the investigation.
Authorities said a tractor trailer driver had pulled up behind a dump truck at the I-95 rest area and was walking between them when, for unknown reasons, the tractor trailer drifted forward into the dump truck, and the driver was wedged between the two.
After 7 a.m., police said officers were called to the scene of the rest area on I-95 south past the Patuxent River Bridgeg, where a pedestrian was pinned between two vehicles.

Jose Ngoran Amoa, 64, of Laurel, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators said that Amoa did not set the parking break before he got out of his vehicle, causing the tractor trailer to drift forward.
There were no violations noted during inspection of the vehicle, according to police.
